One of the advantages of growing up in a seasonal climate like New England, was experiencing the built in touchstones that occur naturally every few months. Each seasonal shift was an abrupt reminder that everything in this world is constantly changing.
As an athlete, the end of a season meant the end of one phase of training and the beginning of a new focus. Whether you are an athlete or not, or from a dramatic seasonal climate or not, the change of seasons lend themselves to reflection that can provide insight for improving the next part of the dance.
